How can we move from single-cell insight to real therapeutic impact?
From high-throughput multi-omics and lineage tracing to advanced computation and AI-driven analytics, single-cell biology is advancing at remarkable speed. We now have unprecedented tools to understand how cells function, interact, and change across development, aging, and disease.
To tackle the next frontier, we’re bringing the community together at Cell Press Symposia: Decoding cellular complexity: Single cell biology in the era of AI, taking place December 2–4, 2026 in Munich, Germany, in partnership with @Helmholtz Munich.
This symposium will unite experimentalists, computational scientists, and translational researchers working across diverse biological systems to explore:
- AI and machine learning for interpreting cellular states and context
- Single-cell genomics for diagnostics and therapeutic discovery
- Spatial and temporal population dynamics
- Cell fate, clonality, and cellular identity
- Learning by perturbing at scale
With leadership from Carsten Marr, Fabian Theis, (@Helmholtz Munich) Barbara Treutlein (ETH Zurich, Switzerland), and Cell Press Editors Bernadett Gaál (Cell Systems), and Judith Nicholson (Cell Genomics & Cell), the symposium will span the full experimental and analytical landscape of single-cell research.
If you’re working at the intersection of biology, technology, and AI — this is a conversation you’ll want to be part of.
