Danny Nedialkova is Professor of Biochemistry at the Medical University of Vienna and a group leader at the Max Perutz Labs at the Vienna BioCenter (Austria). Her research aims to define how gene expression is regulated at the level of translation and how translational control shapes proteome composition and cellular physiology. Her group develops quantitative approaches to study tRNA abundance, modification and function, and uses these methods to understand how tRNA pools are regulated across cellular states and how perturbations of translation affect cell fitness. More broadly, her work aims to define how the composition and quality of the tRNA pool influence translational regulation and cellular homeostasis. Her research has been supported by European Research Council Starting and Consolidator Grants, and she has also been recognized through the EMBO Young Investigator Programme.

Danny Nedialkova studied Biotechnology at the University of Perugia (Italy) and obtained her PhD in Molecular Virology, cum laude, from Leiden University (The Netherlands). She subsequently carried out postdoctoral research at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Biomedicine (Germany). In 2017, she established her independent research group at the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry (Germany) and was jointly appointed as Assistant Professor at the Technical University of Munich. She was promoted to tenured Associate Professor in 2025 and moved her laboratory to Vienna (Austria) in 2026.
