Christine Mummery

Christine Mummery is Professor of Developmental Biology at Leiden University Medical Center. Her research is focussed on modelling cardiovascular diseases using pluripotent stem cells from patients and developing organ-on-chip models to predict toxic effects of drugs on the human heart and identifying individual drug sensitivity.  She was president of the International Society for Stem Cell Research (2020-2021) and co-founded the European Organ-on-Chip Society.  She is a member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Science and several other learned societies.  She serves on various public and private advisory boards, was founding Editor of the ISSCR journal Stem Cell Reports and is PI in reNEW.
