Alba Diz-Muñoz earned her PhD at the Max Planck Institute for Cell Biology and Genetics in Dresden, Germany. She then conducted postdoctoral research between UC Berkeley and UCSF in the USA. Since 2016, she has led a laboratory at EMBL Heidelberg, where her group weaves together material science, biophysics, and bioengineering to explore cell biology, probing how composite interfaces govern cell morphogenesis and immune migration across scales.
