Marc Claret is Group Leader of the Neuronal Control of Metabolism laboratory at IDIBAPS in Barcelona, Spain. He graduated in Biology and Biochemistry from the University of Barcelona and obtained his PhD in Biomedicine. His group has pioneered studies demonstrating the importance of mitochondrial dynamics and function in hypothalamic neurons for metabolic homeostasis. Current research explores how mitochondrial programs shape neuronal identity and function, how metabolic circuits develop and adapt to environmental challenges, and how interactions between the brain and peripheral tissues contribute to metabolic disorders, including obesity and diabetes.
