Alejandra Mendoza is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Immunology and Microbiology at Scripps Research in La Jolla, California. Her research program focuses on how multi-lineage cellular circuits coordinate protective immunity, restrain inflammation and facilitate tissue recovery. Specifically, her laboratory investigates how immune, stromal and neuronal interactions shape tissue function before, during, and after inflammatory insults, with a focus on barrier tissues and anti-viral immunity. Her goal is to identify fundamental pathways that promote tissue resilience and repair, and to understand how their dysregulation contributes to chronic inflammatory disease.
