Leanne Li

Dr. Li leads the Cancer-Neuroscience Laboratory at the Francis Crick Institute in London, UK. Her lab combines cutting-edge cancer genetics and neuroscience to investigate how tumors interact with the nervous system, using a suite of genetically engineered mouse models with a primary focus on lung, pancreatic, and colorectal cancers. The overarching goal is to decode the principles by which the body detects and responds to cancer progression through neuroimmune circuits — and to harness this crosstalk to open new therapeutic avenues. Dr. Li also leads InteroCANCEption, a multidisciplinary team funded by the Cancer Grand Challenges program to address the "Nervous System and Cancer" challenge.
