Speaker
Jeremiah Bernier-Latmani is a Research Associate in the Department of Fundamental Oncology at the University of Lausanne. He obtained his B.S. in Biology from the University of Oregon and his M.S. from Oregon State University. He completed his PhD at the University of Lausanne under the supervision of Phillip Shaw, before joining Prof. Tatiana Petrova's laboratory at the University of Lausanne for postdoctoral training, where he subsequently transitioned to a position as Research Associate.
Jeremiah's research focuses on the molecular and cellular mechanisms governing organ-specific vascular specialization, with a particular emphasis on the intestinal vasculature. He investigates the functional specialization of intestinal blood and lymphatic vessels, their roles in nutrient absorption, immune cell interactions, and colon cancer biology. Current areas of interest include lacteal biology, endothelial cell function in colon cancer, and vascular and fibroblast contributions to intestinal homeostasis and inflammation.
