“Claudia Burrello earned her PhD in 2019 at the European Institute of Oncology (IEO) in Milan, where her research focused on how the manipulation of gut microbiota influences both conventional and unconventional T cells in Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Following her doctoral studies, she expanded her expertise in cancer immunology at the Netherlands Cancer Institute in Amsterdam. As a postdoctoral fellow, she investigated how activation of unconventional T cells can enhance responses to immune checkpoint inhibitors in metastatic breast cancer. Sha Yu, Senior scientific editor, Cell Reports Medicine, Cell Press
Sha received her PhD in genetics from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2017. She was selected as a member of the Chinese student delegation to participate in the 64th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting on Physiology or Medicine. Driven by her research interest in the RNA world, she joined Dr. V. Narry Kim’s lab in Seoul National University, where she studied the role of RNA modifications in glioblastoma. Hongjiao joined Cell Reports in 2024, where she manages manuscripts across the journal’s scope with a focus on cancer and immunology. Before her editorial role, she conducted postdoctoral research at Harvard Medical School, investigating the roles of extrachromosomal circular DNA and chromatin-remodeling factors in cancer and immune contexts. She earned her PhD from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, studying the therapeutic potential of RNA-modifying enzymes in cancer.Email: hxu@cell.com
