Timonthy Wang

Timothy C. Wang is the Silberberg Professor of Medicine, Vice Chair for Academic Programs in Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Dr. Wang received his BA from Williams College, and his MD from the Columbia P&S. He also co-leads the Tumor Biology and Microenvironment Program in the Columbia University Cancer Center/HICCC. His lab has focused on the relationship between inflammation, stem cells and cancer, and the molecular mechanisms of gastrointestinal carcinogenesis. He has been a co-founder and pioneer in the new and emerging field of Cancer Neuroscience, having shown that nerves modulate directly the growth of solid tumors in the gastrointestinal tract.
