Jane E. Parker, Max Planck Institute for Plant Breeding Research, Germany
Professor Jane Parker is internationally recognized for her research on plant immunity. Her chief interest is to understand mechanisms plants have evolved to effectively combat pathogen infection. She contributed to the recent discovery of plant nucleotide-based immune second messengers and elucidating their modes of action in host disease resistance and cell death regulation. Parker received her PhD at The University of Wales, Swansea UK in 1987. Since 2001, Parker has been a Senior Research Group Leader at The Max-Planck Institute for Plant Breeding Research in Cologne, Germany.
