Speaker
Dimitry Ofengeim is a thought leader and scientist specializing in the neurology drug discovery space with a particular focus on neurodegeneration and neuroinflammation. A strong focus of Dimitry’s approach is how we translate the emerging data in neuroscience, inflammation, and metabolism, into the therapies that drive brain health and resilience across diseases like Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and ALS.
Scientific excellence: He has integrated advanced biological and computational methods to enable drug discovery. He drove target identification and validation using human-relevant systems, including iPSC-derived tri-culture CNS models and single-cell/single-nuclei RNA-seq platforms, which his team established in the neurology research group.
Dimitry obtained his PhD from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He then worked in Junying Yuan’s laboratory identifying a key role of RIPK1 in neurodegenerative diseases. He transitioned to industry first working at Biogen. He moved to Sanofi leading the Neuroinflammation group. Dimitry is currently the CSO of a startup company working on pathways that drive resilience in the CNS.
